Terms of Use

These Terms explain the rules for using Boredom and participating in activities arranged through the platform.

Please read these Terms carefully.

By creating an account or using Boredom, you agree to these Terms.

Boredom is not a dating app

The service is designed around friendships, interests, and shared activities.

Meeting people online involves risk

Users remain responsible for their real-world safety decisions.

Hosts are responsible for activities they create

They must provide accurate details, manage approvals, and follow applicable rules.

Private locations must not be shared

Private activity details must stay within the intended group unless permission is given.

Contact emergency services for immediate danger

Boredom reporting tools do not replace local emergency services.

These Terms govern use of the Boredom mobile application and website, including activities, messaging, profiles, safety expectations, and platform rules.

Section 1

About Boredom

Boredom provides technology that helps users discover nearby people and activities, create and host activities, join public or approval-required activities, and communicate with one another.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Boredom is not the organizer of user-created activities, is not an employment agency, and is not a dating service. The service helps users connect, but it does not guarantee that users will meet, that any activity will occur, or that other users will behave as expected.

Boredom does not supervise every activity and is not responsible for transportation, venues, equipment, insurance, or third-party services that may be involved in any activity.

Section 2

Acceptance of the Terms

You accept these Terms by creating an account, accessing the website or app, joining or creating an activity, using chat, or using any other Boredom functionality.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Boredom.

Section 3

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 yo years old and have the legal capacity to accept these Terms.

You must provide accurate information and may not use Boredom if you were previously suspended or banned, unless Boredom gives written permission.

Section 4

Accounts and Security

You must maintain only legitimate accounts and keep your credentials secure.

Boredom may require email, phone, selfie, or other verification in the future. Any verification process, if introduced, does not guarantee identity, safety, or future behavior.

  • Keep login credentials confidential and notify Boredom of suspected unauthorized access.
  • Keep profile details reasonably accurate and up to date.
  • Do not impersonate another person or create misleading or fake identities.
  • Do not sell, transfer, or share accounts.

Section 5

User Profiles

Depending on the service design and your settings, profile information may include display name, profile photo, biography, interests, approximate location, activities created or joined, mutual connections, and account history or community signals.

You must not upload:

  • Images you do not have permission to use.
  • Misleading photos or false profile details.
  • Illegal content or sensitive personal information about another person.
  • Contact details intended to bypass platform safety controls.

Section 6

Activities

Users may create, host, discover, join, leave, or request access to activities through Boredom.

Host responsibilities

Participant responsibilities

Boredom does not guarantee attendance, host reliability, participant behavior, venue availability, activity quality, safety, or the accuracy of user-provided details.

  • Provide accurate descriptions and material details.
  • Select an appropriate location.
  • Communicate material changes and cancellations.
  • Respect participant limits and manage approvals fairly.
  • Follow applicable venue, safety, and local rules.
  • Review details before joining.
  • Arrive safely and on time.
  • Bring required equipment.
  • Assess your own health, fitness, and ability.
  • Follow host and venue rules and behave respectfully.

Section 7

Public, Private, and Approval-Required Activities

Public activities

Public activities may be visible to eligible users and may allow immediate joining.

Approval-required activities

Users may need to request access and wait for host approval. Before approval, Boredom may hide the exact address, participant identities, group chat, or other sensitive activity details.

Friends-only or private activities

Visibility may be limited to invited or connected users. You must not share private activity details outside the intended group without permission.

Section 8

Invitations and Requests

Boredom may support friend requests, activity invitations, join requests, approvals, and rejections.

  • Invitations do not guarantee participation.
  • Hosts may accept or reject requests, subject to applicable anti-discrimination laws.
  • Requests may expire after an activity begins or closes.

Section 9

Messaging and Communications

Boredom may support direct messages, activity group chats, service notifications, safety notices, and account communications.

You must not send:

Users may block or report others. Boredom may review reported content and limited associated context where reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, legal compliance, or support. Boredom does not represent that all private messages are actively monitored.

  • Harassment, threats, or fraudulent messages.
  • Spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Sexual or exploitative content.
  • Malicious links, malware, or requests for prohibited transactions.

Section 10

Real-World Meetings and Safety

Meeting people from the internet carries risk. Boredom cannot guarantee user identity or safety.

Reporting to Boredom does not replace contacting emergency services or lawful authorities.

  • Meet in public places where appropriate.
  • Tell someone where you are going.
  • Arrange your own transport.
  • Avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.
  • Leave if you feel unsafe.
  • Contact local emergency services in an emergency.
  • Report concerning behavior to Boredom.

Section 11

Prohibited Conduct

The following examples are prohibited and are not exhaustive:

  • Fake profiles, impersonation, harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, or violence.
  • Hate speech, child exploitation, sexual exploitation, or unlawful discrimination.
  • Fraud, scams, spam, or unauthorized commercial promotion.
  • Illegal activities, prohibited goods, controlled substances, or weapons-related activity where prohibited.
  • Scraping, automated account creation, reverse engineering where legally permitted to restrict, or circumventing security controls.
  • Manipulating reviews, collecting user data without permission, or sharing private activity locations.
  • Encouraging dangerous behavior or creating misleading or unsafe activities.

Section 12

User Content

User Content includes profile content, photos, activity descriptions, messages, reviews, comments, and uploaded media.

You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant Boredom a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, distribute within the service, and otherwise process that content as needed to operate, promote, secure, and improve Boredom.

This license ends when content is deleted, except to the extent the content remains in backups, must be retained for legal obligations, or has already been shared with other users.

Section 13

Content Moderation

Boredom may remove content, restrict visibility, suspend accounts, cancel activities, preserve evidence, respond to reports, and cooperate with lawful authorities.

Boredom is not obligated to pre-screen all content. Appeals or support requests may be directed to contact@getboredom.app.

Section 14

Reporting and Blocking

  • Users can block profiles and report profiles, activities, and messages.
  • Reports should be made honestly and in good faith.
  • False or abusive reports may lead to action.
  • Blocking may not remove records already shared through prior activity participation.
  • Emergency matters should go to local authorities or emergency services.

Section 15

Reviews, Ratings, and Community Signals

Reviews and ratings must reflect genuine experiences.

Ratings, badges, and community signals are informational only and do not guarantee safety or quality.

  • Fake reviews and review manipulation are prohibited.
  • Retaliatory reviews are prohibited.
  • Reviews unrelated to an actual interaction are prohibited.
  • Incentivized reviews must be clearly disclosed and otherwise permitted.

Section 16

Notifications

You may receive activity reminders, messages, friend requests, join requests, approvals, cancellations, safety notices, and product communications.

Optional notifications may be managed in settings, but essential account, security, legal, and safety communications may still be sent.

Section 17

Third-Party Services

Boredom may integrate with third-party services such as map providers, authentication providers, email providers, push notification providers, analytics providers, app stores, or external venues or meeting platforms.

Those third-party services have their own terms and policies.

Section 18

Intellectual Property

Boredom and its licensors own the app software, brand assets, logos, product design, documentation, and non-user-generated content.

You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service. Unauthorized copying, resale, or commercial exploitation is prohibited.

Section 19

Feedback

If you voluntarily submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas, Boredom may use that feedback without payment or obligation, subject to applicable law and without overriding any confidentiality protections that apply.

Section 20

Account Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Boredom or delete your account at any time.

Boredom may restrict, suspend, or terminate access for reasons including:

  • Terms violations
  • Safety risks
  • Fraud
  • Illegal activity
  • Repeated reports
  • Harm to users or the service
  • Legal requirements

Section 21

Account Deletion

Deleting an account may remove your profile, friend connections, preferences, access to chats, and participation records.

Some information may remain in limited circumstances:

  • Backups for a limited period
  • Where legally required
  • In content already shared with other users
  • In fraud, abuse, security, or dispute records
  • In aggregated or anonymized form

Section 22

Availability and Changes to the Service

Features may change, the service may be interrupted, maintenance may occur, geographic availability may vary, and beta or MVP features may contain errors.

Boredom does not guarantee continuous availability or uptime.

Section 23

Fees and Paid Features

The current MVP may be offered without charge. Paid or premium features may be introduced later, and users will be informed before being charged.

If payments are introduced, app-store billing terms may apply and refund terms will be provided at that time.

Section 24

Disclaimers

To the extent allowed by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. Boredom does not make guarantees about other users, activities, hosts, venues, user-generated content, safety, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded.

Section 25

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Boredom will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the service.

Any limitation or exclusion applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Section 26

Indemnity

Where permitted by law, you may be responsible for losses caused by your unlawful conduct, breach of these Terms, activities, content, or infringement of third-party rights.

Section 27

Changes to These Terms

Boredom may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, Boredom may provide reasonable notice, update the last updated date, and request renewed acceptance where legally required.

Continued use after changes may constitute acceptance only where legally valid.

Section 28

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Moroccan Law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply in the user’s country.

Section 29

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply where legally possible.

Section 30

No Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive the right to enforce that provision later.

Section 31

Entire Agreement

These Terms and any referenced policies form the agreement regarding use of the service.
